Projektas skatina Zarasų ir Biržų bendruomenes telktis smurto lyties pagrindu prevencijai, ugdo mentorius ir stiprina jautrumą lyčių lygybei.

Projektas „Pagarba prasideda nuo manęs“ (2025–2026 m.) siekia sutelkti Zarasų ir Biržų krašto bendruomenes kovai su smurtu lyties pagrindu. Jo metu vykdoma švietėjiška veikla, rengiami mentoriai, kurie padės atpažinti smurto požymius, skatins nukentėjusias moteris kreiptis pagalbos ir stiprins visuomenės sąmoningumą lyčių lygybės klausimais.

Projektas parengtas pagal Atviros Lietuvos fondo programą „VEIKIAM“. Projektą finansuoja Europos sąjunga.
Įgyvendinant projektą bus sukurta Mentorių programa ir suburtas mentorių tinklas, vykdantis šviečiamąją veiklą įvairiose institucijose bei teikiantis pirminę emocinę pagalbą. Per socialinius tinklus, vietinę žiniasklaidą ir advokacijos veiklas bus didinamas visuomenės jautrumas smurtui, keičiamas požiūris į lyčių stereotipus ir skatinamas Stambulo konvencijos ratifikavimas Zarasų ir Biržų savivaldybėse.

The “Zarasai Community” Association initiates and implements projects and events that meet the needs of the residents of the Zarasai region and strengthen the local community. We provide consultations to residents on various relevant issues, some of which are related to domestic violence. In 2024, we organized 15 public events. Although the Zarasai Community as an organization is relatively young, the core team had previously been active as initiators of projects and events. Therefore, having come together under the umbrella of the community, we naturally have a sizable following who actively and enthusiastically participate in the events we organize.

One of the goals of the Zarasai Community is to bring together individuals from various social groups for joint activities that foster self-confidence, civic engagement, and a sense of community. These activities are carried out while upholding fundamental principles of human dignity, safety, equality, and equity.

Capabilities: Facilities: Since April 1, 2025, we have been managing almost 600 square meters of premises in the city center under a ten-year loan-for-use agreement. These spaces are already being successfully used for organizing events and gatherings.
